Before You Begin:

First Step: Flash Custom Recovery:

  • Download and place all three files onto your Desktop.
  • Extract files from the Fastboot archive over to your Desktop.
  • Turn OFF your device.
  • Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
  • Select Fastboot from the menu that appears on your screen.
  • Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
  • Launch a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop. To do that, simply hold down the Shift button and right-click on any blank area on your screen and select Open command window here.
  • Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window. Make sure to replace recovery.img with the actual name of the Recovery Image you downloaded:
    • fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
  • Once the recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.

Second Step: Root your device:

  • Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
  • Copy the SU zip over to the root of your SD card.
  • Once the zip has been copied, disconnect your device from your PC.
  • Turn OFF your device.
  • Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
  • Select Recovery from the options that appear on your screen.
  • In the Recovery, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.
  • Choose the SU zip to be flashed on your device.
  • As soon as you select the zip, it’ll begin flashing it on your device.
  • Once the zip has been flashed, reboot your device.
