How To Root LG G2 On Android 4.2.2 Jellybean

LG has finally launched its new smartphone the Optimus G2 which is a follow-up to its previous flagship device, the Optimus G.

The smartphone has a 5.2-inch full HD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels which comes to 423 pixels per inch. The device also comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with Optical Image stabilisation (OIS) technology as well (LG says this is the only 13 megapixel camera with OIS technology). The front camera is 2.1 megapixels.

The G2 is also the first smartphone with a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor (first revealed at CES 2013) and it is clocked at 2.26 GHz. The phone also has quad-core Adreno 330 GPU for Graphics. The smartphone comes with 2GB RAM and will come with 32 GB and 16 GB storage space version.


Today i will show you how to root LG G2 running on Android 4.2.2 Jelleybean…

1. Before You Begin:

  1. This method works for LG G2 Only Don’t try in other devices.
  2. You need a Windows based PC or Laptop for this procedure.
  3. Download & Install LG G2 USB Drivers from Here
  4. Enable USB Debugging in your device.Click Here if you don’t know how to enable.
  5. Your device must be charged 50% minimum.
  6. We recommend you to make a backup of your data.

2. Download Required Files:

  1. LG G2 Root

3. Rooting Of LG G2 Running On Android 4.2.2 Jellybean:

  1. Please complete all the Before Begin steps first.
  2. Download LG G2 Root file from above.
  3. Extract LG G2 Root  .zip file in your computer.
  4. Connect your device via USB Cable to your computer (Enable USB Debugging First).
  5. Wait for some time, let him complete the driver installation first.
  6. Open the LG G2 Root extracted folder.
  7. You will find a  Root.bat file.
  8. Doubleclick to launch it in your PC.
  9. Now follow the onscreen instructions from the root.bat file.
  10. The phone will ask you to disconnect USB, disable USB debugging, then re-enable it and plug the phone back in, do so when prompted
  11. After completion of process, You will then be asked if you would like to have a superuser package installed (Accept It)
  12. When the script finish execution , Reboot your device…


Your device is rooted now…

    Is it possible to use adb + fastboot on linux to do this without needing Windows? It’s pretty tough to find something running not linux for me…
