In our last two articles about Moto G we wrote about  How To Root Moto G and How To Restore Stock Firmware In Moto G. Moto G is most popular smartphone from Motorola. Moto G is most popular mid budget smartphone till now. Moto G has a 4.7 inch display with HD screen resolution and Gorilla Glass protection. The device come with 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 Quad-Core processor with Adreno 305 GPU for gaming and 1 GB RAM support. Moto G is available in two internal storage option 8 GB and 16 GB, Moto G doesn’t come with microSD card slot for external storage.



Below are some warning statements that you must be knowing before preparing to Root or Install Custom Rom in your Android Smartphone/Tablet:

  • Rooting/Installing Custom ROM is not an authorized process hence you’ll be losing all your warranty benefits over your Android Smartphone  after Rooting/Installing it.
  • There are certain risks of damaging your Android Smartphone/Tablets while Rooting/Installing Custom ROM in it. Hence, it is recommended that you proceed at your own risk and we are not to be held responsible even if your Smartphone gets damaged during or after completing the Rooting/Custom ROM installation process.
  • You might not receive any future official software or firmware updates after rooting and installing Custom ROM in your Android Smartphone.

Before You Begin:

  • You need a Windows based PC or Laptop.
  • This method is working and tested on Motorola Moto G with Unlocked Bootloader only. You can Unlock Bootloader from official site.
  • Download and Install Moto G USB Drivers.
  • Enable USB Debugging in your Moto G.Click Here if you don’t know how to enable.
  • Your device must be charged 50% minimum.
  • Make backup of device data for safety.

How To Root And Flash Custom Recovery In Motorola Moto G:

  • Follow all the steps given in Before You Begin section first.
  • Download and Extract MotoTool All In One in your computer.
  • Launch the MotoGRc1 application found inside bin/Debug folder of extracted MotoTool folder.
  • When the tool is launched, you’ll see many option there.
  • First Select OS from Kitkat and Jellybean (Select OS on which your device is running).
  • Second In Tools window select Push SU 2SD and click on Do It! button.
  • Now from Flash Recovery window select recovery you want to flash in your device (We’ll recommend TWRP Recovery, Don’t flash Stock Recovery) and click on Flash! button .
  • When the recovery is flashed, Select Fastboot from Reboot In window and click on Reboot! button.
  • Now your device will boot into Fastboot Mode, Press Volume Down to highlight Recovery and then Press Volume Up to select it.
  • Your device will go to Recovery Mode now, select Install > install zip from sdcard for CWM Recovery or tap on Install for TWRP Recovery and select SuperSU zip file and flash it.
  • After flashing SuperSU zip file, go to main menu of Recovery and select Reboot System option.

That’s it! Your Moto G is successfully rooted now and have Custom Recovery installed.
